Did you have a Mom that made you try EVERYTHING when you were a kid? I did. She was famous for saying "Try it, you'll like it!". Of course she just wanted me to be a well-rounded individual, as most parents do.

At one point or another during my childhood, I was juggling violin, recorder, piano, guitar, ballet and art classes. My Mom was the local Girl Scout leader so naturally, I was a Brownie and then a Junior (where I sold and ate more Thin Mints than I care to remember). Add to the mix, the dreaded day camps - Ecology Day Camp where we played in the woods and Chatham Summer Camp, which was more or less a popularity contest.

The only thing that stuck with me were ART CLASSES. I remember winning a coloring contest in 2nd grade and receiving the grand prize of Bernadette Bunny (and I still have her)!

My mother had me attend art classes at the Carnegie Museums in Pittsburgh, where I grew up. GO STEELERS! Sorry, I got side-tracked...back to the museum where we were able to wander the dim corridors surrounded by exhibits of dinosaurs, prehistoric underwater creatures and mummies, find a niche and sketch until your heart's content. I would get lost in my own world.

Throughout my life, I continued to draw and sketch for fun and freelance. High school art class was my favorite escape.

For most students it was an easy "A" but I actually looked forward to each class to see what assignment we were in store for. Initially college was just something to do after high-school until I discovered the Art History Department at the University of Pittsburgh. It became my major, with Studio Arts becoming my minor.

After college and still unsure of what I wanted to be when I grew up, my parents suggested trying jobs in various art-related fields. I actually took their advice, for once. I did it all from an internship at an art gallery to a gopher at a small graphic/industrial design agency to an assistant manager at an art supply store to a box office manager for 2 performing arts theaters.

When I moved to Baltimore 2001, I tried something new...working at a health club. What I thought was going to be something to do before I found a "real" job, turned out to be a move that helped me realize my passion. At the Maryland Athletic Club & Wellness Center, I developed the Internal Marketing Department and became my own graphic arts department. Through all of this, I realized what I LOVE the most is the creative process! I love taking an idea and making it come to life. I want to do the same thing for you!
I want to hear what your vision is and I want to make it happen for you!

Have I finally figured out what I want to be when I grow up? I think so!
